Liverpool – On March 10, 2024, Adidas and Liverpool Football Club (Liverpool FC) sealed a long-term partnership, designating the global sportswear giant as the club’s official kit supplier starting from the 2025-2026 season.
The agreement marks the third chapter in the storied collaboration between the two iconic brands, with adidas set to outfit Liverpool’s men’s and women’s teams, academy, and staff from August 1, 2025. Beyond match and training kits, adidas will also provide culturally inspired apparel for the club and its charitable arm, the LFC Foundation.
This partnership rekindles a historic bond that previously flourished during Liverpool’s golden eras from 1985 to 1996 and 2006 to 2012, periods when the club clinched three English Premier League titles and 11 domestic trophies. The announcement comes as Liverpool enjoys a stellar 2024-2025 season: the men’s team tops the Premier League and has advanced to the UEFA Champions League knockout stage, while the women’s team continues to shine in England’s top tier. Fans are already buzzing with anticipation for the return of adidas’ iconic designs, which have long been cherished as symbols of the club’s past triumphs.
The collaboration builds on a rich legacy. During the 1985-1996 stint, adidas kits became synonymous with Liverpool’s dominance, including their European Cup victories, while the 2006-2012 era saw memorable designs worn during a resurgence of domestic success. Bjørn Gulden, adidas’ global CEO, expressed excitement about the reunion, stating, “Liverpool is one of the world’s biggest and most iconic football clubs with a massive fanbase. We’re honored to bring our cutting-edge technology to support their peak performance and to revive classic designs while introducing fresh, exciting products for supporters.”
Liverpool FC CEO Billy Hogan echoed the sentiment: “Everyone at the club is thrilled to welcome adidas back into the Liverpool family. Our past collaborations produced some of the most iconic kits in our history, and this is the perfect moment to reunite, creating new designs that honor our shared legacy and drive future success.” The deal also strengthens adidas’ ties with key Liverpool stars like Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Darwin Nunez, who are already part of the brand’s roster of sponsored athletes.
adidas’ return extends beyond the pitch, encompassing the club’s women’s team and youth academy, as well as providing branded apparel for the LFC Foundation’s community initiatives. The first glimpse of the new adidas-designed Liverpool kit will be unveiled on August 1, 2025, via the club’s and adidas’ official channels, fueling anticipation among the Reds’ global fanbase. This partnership adds Liverpool to adidas’ elite portfolio, which includes Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich, alongside major tournaments like the FIFA World Cup and UEFA Champions League.
For Liverpool, the timing couldn’t be better. With both teams excelling and a rich history to draw upon, this collaboration promises to blend nostalgia with innovation. As the 2025-2026 season approaches, fans can look forward to a fresh chapter of adidas-clad glory, potentially echoing the club’s past triumphs while forging new memories.
