Re-schedule round 17 of V.League 1 – 2024/25 due to national mourning

Hanoi, April 4, 2025 – The Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) has rescheduled matches for Round 17 of the V-League and Round 13 of the National First Division 2024/2025 following the state’s declaration of a two-day national mourning period for Comrade Khamtay Siphandone, from April 4 to 5, 2025. As reported by VOV.VN, all matches under the VPF’s competition system originally set for April 5 will be adjusted accordingly.

In a recent statement, the VPF outlined the revised schedule. V-League Round 17 matches, initially planned for April 5, 2025, will now take place on April 6, 2025, as follows: HAGL vs. Binh Duong at 5:00 p.m., Ho Chi Minh City FC vs. SLNA at 7:15 p.m., and The Cong Viettel vs. Quang Nam at 7:15 p.m. These shifts ensure compliance with the national mourning period, during which public events are curtailed.

Similarly, adjustments affect the National First Division Round 13. Matches scheduled for April 5 will also move to April 6, 2025: Ninh Binh FC vs. Vung Tau at 6:00 p.m., Dong Nai FC vs. Khanh Hoa at 4:00 p.m., and Binh Phuoc FC vs. Tre Ho Chi Minh City FC at 6:00 p.m. The VPF’s decision reflects a coordinated effort to honor the mourning period while maintaining the season’s integrity.

The Organizing Committee has urged match organizers, clubs, and relevant parties to collaborate in implementing these changes, ensuring smooth execution of the adjusted fixtures. The VPF emphasized the need for all involved—referees, security, and broadcasters—to adapt swiftly to the new timeline. Fans can expect updates via official VPF channels and broadcasters like FPT Play.

This rare adjustment underscores the VPF’s flexibility amid national priorities. With V-League leaders Hanoi FC set to face Thanh Hoa elsewhere on April 6 under historic foreign VAR oversight, the rescheduling adds intrigue to an already packed weekend. Clubs like The Cong Viettel and SLNA, both chasing top spots, will look to capitalize on the extra day’s preparation.
