Hanoi, 11 June 2025 – Vietnam’s national women’s volleyball team continued their dominant performance at the 2025 AVC Nations Cup with a commanding 3-0 victory over India on June 11 at Dong Anh Gymnasium in Hanoi. The win marked Vietnam’s third straight-set triumph in the group stage, keeping their undefeated record intact.
After a one-day break in the schedule, all teams returned to action for the next round of group matches. Facing an underdog Indian side, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet’s squad showed no signs of slowing down. Vietnam controlled the match from start to finish, winning convincingly with set scores of 25-19, 25-7, and 25-8.
In this match, coach Tuan Kiet took the opportunity to rotate the squad, giving every player on the roster time on the court. This strategy not only ensured rest for key players but also allowed the entire team to gain match rhythm and confidence ahead of the knockout rounds.
With the victory, Vietnam maintains their position at the top of the group standings and remains the only team in the tournament that has not dropped a single set. The result guarantees them a spot among the top four teams advancing to the semifinals, which will be officially confirmed after the final group-stage matches on June 12.
Elsewhere on June 11, several intense matches unfolded: Australia edged Hong Kong (China) 3-2, Kazakhstan defeated Iran 3-1, the Philippines swept New Zealand 3-0, and Indonesia beat Mongolia 3-0.
Vietnam will face Australia in their final group-stage match on June 12. The semifinals will be determined that same day, with the top two teams from each group advancing. With their flawless form, Vietnam is not only assured of a semifinal berth but also stands out as one of the strongest contenders for the championship.
The 2025 AVC Nations Cup will continue through to its conclusion on June 14, where Vietnam will look to complete their remarkable run with a title on home soil.
