Hanoi, 14 July, 2025 – On the afternoon of July 14, the Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) conducted the official draw for the 2025/26 V.League 1 season fixture list.
According to the schedule, the new Vietnamese professional football season will officially kick off with the National Super Cup match on August 9, 2025, and conclude on June 28, 2026.
In the opening round of the V.League 2025/26, defending champions Nam Dinh will take on Hai Phong in a highly anticipated northern derby. Meanwhile, Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) will host Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Tinh face Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa welcome Da Nang, and Hanoi FC begin their campaign away at newly rebranded CATP.HCM. Other matchups include Quang Nam versus Song Lam Nghe An and Hanoi Police FC against The Cong Viettel.

This season will feature 14 professional clubs from across the country, including: Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi Police FC, CATP.HCM, Thanh Hoa, Hanoi FC, Hai Phong, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Ha Tinh, Ninh Binh, Quang Nam, Da Nang, Song Lam Nghe An, Nam Dinh, and The Cong Viettel.
There are several notable changes for this season. Two teams will be directly relegated at the end of the campaign, increasing the competition for survival. Additionally, in accordance with the resolution issued by the 8th Executive Committee Meeting of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) on March 27, 2025, clubs participating in AFC competitions may register up to 7 foreign players during the season. All other clubs are allowed to register a maximum of 4 foreign players.

However, each team may only field a maximum of 3 foreign players at the same time in any given match.
Regarding player registration and transfers, the process is divided into two windows. The pre-season registration deadline is set for 5:00 PM on August 1, 2025. The first transfer window runs from July 15 to September 14, 2025, while the second transfer window will be open from January 25 to March 17, 2026.
These changes aim to raise the overall competitiveness of the league while aligning with international standards and the AFC’s club competition regulations. As the new season approaches, fans across Vietnam are eagerly anticipating the return of the top-tier domestic league.
