Hanoi, 28 July, 2025 – Hanoi FC has confirmed the departure of midfielder Chu Van Kien after just one season with the club. The 27-year-old joined the capital side from Ho Chi Minh FC but failed to make a significant impact during his time at Hang Day Stadium.
In the 2025/2026 season, Van Kien made only four appearances across all competitions, scoring just one goal. The lack of contribution to the team’s overall play led to the decision to part ways.

Prior to Van Kien’s exit, Hanoi FC had already released several other players, including Kyle Colonna, Joao Pedro, and Ho Thanh Minh. Similar to Van Kien, these players were deemed not to have met the coaching staff’s expectations in terms of performance.
On the other hand, Hanoi FC has strengthened its squad with notable signings ahead of the new season. The club secured the services of Hendrio from Nam Dinh, defender Cong Nhat, and Brazilian center-back Adriel Tadeu Ferreira da Silva to enhance their lineup as they aim for titles in the upcoming campaign.
