Hanoi, 8 September, 2025 – On the morning of September 8, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) hosted the official sponsorship announcement and draw ceremony for the final round of the Vietnam U17 National Championship 2025, set to take place in Ho Chi Minh City from September 14 to 26.
The event confirmed that Thai Son Nam Group will continue as the tournament’s main sponsor, marking the eighth consecutive year of partnership with the prestigious youth competition.
Speaking at the ceremony, VFF General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu emphasized the significance of the U17 Championship within the national football development system:
“The Vietnam U17 National Championship 2025 plays a crucial role in nurturing young talent. It not only provides valuable match experience for young players but also serves as a platform for clubs and academies to evaluate their training programs and identify outstanding prospects for the future of Vietnamese football.”
Nguyen Van Phu further underlined that this year’s edition will serve as a vital talent pool for the Vietnam U17 team as they prepare for the AFC U17 Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers in November, while also laying the foundation for the 2026 domestic youth competition system.
The final round will feature 12 teams competing for the national title: The Cong Viettel, Hanoi FC, Hanoi Police FC, PVF-CAND, Song Lam Nghe An, Nam Dinh, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City FC, Ho Chi Minh FC, An Giang, and Becamex Ho Chi Minh.
According to the format, the teams are divided into three groups of four. Each group will play in a round-robin format to determine rankings. The top two teams in each group, along with the two best third-placed teams, will advance to the quarterfinals. The tournament will then progress through the knockout stages — quarterfinals, semifinals, and final — to crown the national champion.
The official draw produced the following groups:
-
Group A: Ho Chi Minh City FC, Hanoi Police FC, Nam Dinh, Da Nang
-
Group B: Becamex Ho Chi Minh, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Hanoi FC, Song Lam Nghe An
-
Group C: Ho Chi Minh FC, An Giang, PVF-CAND, The Cong Viettel
With strong academies and traditional powerhouses such as PVF-CAND, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, and The Cong Viettel in the mix, the tournament promises to deliver intense battles and showcase the depth of young Vietnamese football talent.
The Vietnam U17 National Championship has long been a stepping stone for many players who later advanced to the senior national team. The 2025 edition is expected to continue this tradition, uncovering the next generation of stars for both club and country.
