Hung Yen, 22 November 2025 – U17 Vietnam opened their AFC U17 Asian Cup 2026 qualifying campaign in style, defeating U17 Singapore 6-0 at PVF Stadium to take an early lead in Group C under coach Cristiano Roland.

U17 Vietnam enjoyed a perfect start to the AFC U17 Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers after a resounding 6-0 victory over U17 Singapore on the evening of 22 November at PVF Stadium in Hung Yen. Entering the tournament as host of Group C, coach Cristiano Roland’s team immediately asserted their dominance and delivered a commanding performance from start to finish.

Right after kickoff, U17 Vietnam pushed high and applied tremendous pressure on Singapore’s defence. The opening goal came even before three minutes had passed. From the right flank, Le Sy Bach slipped a through ball for Le Trong Dai Nhan, who was brought down inside the box. Dai Nhan confidently converted the penalty down the middle to give Vietnam a 1-0 lead in the 4th minute.

Vietnam continued to control the match and doubled the advantage in the 25th minute. After a superb long pass from Chu Ngoc Nguyen Luc split the Singapore backline, Sy Bach’s first shot was saved, but he quickly regained possession and coolly finished to make it 2-0.

In the 38th minute, a beautiful combination through the middle opened space for Nguyen Minh Thuy, who struck decisively to extend Vietnam’s lead to 3-0 heading into halftime.

The second half saw no let-up from the home side. In the 64th minute, a low cross from a right-side set piece found Nguyen Luc, who placed a clean first-time finish to make it 4-0. Four minutes later, Vietnam earned another penalty, and Tran Manh Quan easily sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to increase the score to 5-0. Only one minute after that, a mistake from the Singapore keeper gifted Vietnam another chance, and Manh Quan capitalised immediately to complete his brace and seal the 6-0 victory.

With a dominant display in their opening match, U17 Vietnam take the early momentum in Group C. They will face U17 Northern Mariana Islands in their second match on 24 November, aiming to continue their strong push toward securing a place in the AFC U17 Asian Cup 2026 finals in Saudi Arabia.
