Chinese club set sights on signing Dinh Bac

Shanghai, 12 February 2026 – Chinese media outlets have simultaneously reported that Guangxi Hengchen, the newly crowned champions of China’s League Two, are considering a move for Vietnamese striker Nguyen Dinh Bac.

Following his impressive performances at the U23 Asian Cup 2026, Dinh Bac has attracted significant interest from overseas clubs. His future has become a hot topic among fans and media alike. In addition to reported approaches from Japan’s J.League and South Korea’s K.League, China has now emerged as another potential destination.

According to Chinese outlet 163.com, Guangxi Hengchen — a rising club that recently won China’s third-tier league and secured promotion to League One for next season — are keen to sign the 22-year-old forward. The report highlighted Dinh Bac’s key role in helping Vietnam claim third place at the U23 Asian Cup 2026, where he scored four goals and provided two assists, earning the tournament’s Golden Boot award.

Chinese media described Dinh Bac as the standout star of Vietnam’s U23 side and suggested he has the ability to compete effectively in China’s second division. Compared to Japan U23 striker Sato Ryunosuke, whose estimated market value stands at €1.2 million, Dinh Bac’s transfer value is reportedly around €300,000 — making him a potentially high-quality yet affordable signing.

“This suggests that Dinh Bac could represent a cost-effective and valuable addition for Guangxi Hengchen. If the deal materializes, it may signal a new direction in Chinese clubs’ foreign recruitment strategy,” 163 commented.

The club is seen as one of the most ambitious rising projects in Chinese football. After clinching the League Two title with five rounds to spare, Guangxi Hengchen are reportedly building the first professional football stadium in Guangxi Province. Some media have even compared the club’s rapid rise to the early days of Guangzhou Evergrande.

However, despite the speculation, the likelihood of the transfer appears low. Dinh Bac remains a key player for Hanoi Police FC, and the club is unlikely to part with one of its brightest talents as it continues pursuing major domestic and continental ambitions.
