Hanoi, 10 February 2026 – Both head coach Alexandre Polking and defender Doan Van Hau expressed strong confidence and determination ahead of their rematch against Singaporean side Tampines Rovers FC in the Round of 16 of the AFC Champions League Two 2025/26.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference held at 11:00 a.m. on February 10, coach Polking emphasized the sense of responsibility carried by Hanoi Police FC as Vietnam’s representative on the continental stage. “We always compete with maximum ambition and responsibility. Our objective is to achieve the best possible result as a way of thanking our supporters,” Polking said.
He also acknowledged that Tampines Rovers would not be the same team they faced earlier this month. “After the defeat on February 4, they will certainly make adjustments and analyze the match carefully to find solutions. We are doing the same. Our squad has reviewed what we did well in order to maintain the style and identity that Hanoi Police FC have built over the past year,” he added.
Defender Doan Van Hau echoed his coach’s confidence, stating that he is fully prepared for the upcoming clash. “I am ready for tomorrow’s match. As players, our biggest goal is always to win and deliver a positive result for the team,” he said.
From the Tampines Rovers camp, head coach Noh Rahman admitted disappointment with their recent 1–6 loss to Hanoi Police FC but insisted that result did not reflect his team’s true strength. “Our aim is to achieve a favorable result and advance to the quarter-finals. The heavy defeat was frustrating, but it does not show the real level of Tampines Rovers. We will present a different face in the AFC Champions League Two,” Rahman stressed.
Center-back Dylan Fox also underlined his team’s determination, noting that Tampines Rovers are well prepared and fully aware of the dangers posed by Hanoi Police FC.
The first-leg Round of 16 match between Hanoi Police FC and Tampines Rovers will take place at 7:15 p.m. on February 11 at Hang Day Stadium. This will be the second meeting between the two sides in February, following Hanoi Police FC’s emphatic 6–1 win in the Shopee Cup on February 4. The return leg is scheduled for February 18, meaning the teams will face each other three times within a single month.
