Ninh Binh, 15 March 2026 – Today (March 15), together with voters across the country, naturalized player Nguyen Xuan Son cast his ballot in the election for the 16th National Assembly and the People’s Councils for the 2026–2031 term. Xuan Son voted at Polling Station No. 52 in Nam Dinh Ward, Ninh Binh.
Speaking about his first voting experience, Xuan Son shared:
“I feel happy and proud to vote for the first time as a Vietnamese citizen. This is something very special and meaningful for me and my family.”
Since becoming a Vietnamese citizen, Xuan Son has made significant contributions to the Vietnam national team. At the ASEAN Cup 2024, he played a key role in helping Vietnam win the championship and also finished the tournament as the top scorer.
Xuan Son has been included by Coach Kim Sang Sik in the Vietnam national team squad preparing for the FIFA Days in March 2026. During this period, Vietnam will play a crucial match against Malaysia in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
Another naturalized player, Do Phi Long, also voted for the first time as a Vietnamese citizen. The Da Nang FC player expressed his pride in being able to contribute to the development of the country.
