Hanoi, 23 June 2026 – Cong An Ha Noi FC have been dealt a setback in their summer recruitment plans after failing to secure the signature of French-Vietnamese defender Julien Mouillon, despite strong interest from the club and the player’s desire to move to Vietnam.
The 28-year-old center-back recently traveled to Vietnam and was spotted attending a Cong An Ha Noi FC match at Hang Day Stadium, fueling speculation that a transfer to the V.League side was close to completion. However, the anticipated move has ultimately collapsed due to unresolved contractual issues in France.
Speaking about the situation, Mouillon explained that existing obligations with his parent club have prevented him from completing a transfer during the current window. As a result, the defender is unable to join any V.League club this summer despite being eager to begin a new chapter in Vietnam.
Born in 1997, Mouillon has repeatedly expressed his desire to play in his mother’s homeland and remains hopeful that a move can be arranged when the winter transfer window opens later this year. The defender views Vietnam as an important destination in his career and has not ruled out joining a V.League side in the near future.
For Cong An Ha Noi FC, missing out on Mouillon represents a disappointing outcome as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of a demanding campaign. The Hanoi-based side is preparing to compete on four fronts this season and has been actively seeking quality additions to increase depth and maintain competitiveness throughout the year.
Although head coach Alexandre Polking will not be able to call upon the 1.85-meter defender for the start of the season, the club is expected to continue monitoring his situation closely. Should Mouillon resolve his contractual issues in Europe, Cong An Ha Noi FC could revisit the deal when the transfer market reopens during the winter window.
