Quang Ninh, 5 July 2026 – Ho Chi Minh City I continued their impressive unbeaten run in the 2026 Vietnam National Women’s Football Championship – Thai Son Bac Cup by defeating Than KSVN 2-1 on July 5, extending their winning streak to four consecutive matches.
Than KSVN have long been one of the toughest opponents for coach Kim Chi’s side, frequently challenging the defending champions in recent seasons. However, the mining club has been weakened following the departure of several key players, making Ho Chi Minh City I’s victory far less surprising this time around.
After opening the campaign with three consecutive victories over Ho Chi Minh City II, Hanoi II, and Hanoi I, Ho Chi Minh City I travelled to Cua Ong Stadium full of confidence. They delivered another composed performance, securing all three points thanks to a brace from Phan Thi Trang, who once again proved to be the difference-maker.
In the day’s other fixture, Hanoi I were made to work hard against a youthful and energetic Phong Phu Ha Nam side. Despite playing at home, Hanoi I struggled to find their rhythm in the opening stages and were fortunate not to concede.
The hosts gradually regained control after the midway point of the first half and stepped up their attacking intensity after the break. Their persistence finally paid off in the 70th minute when Dang Thi Duyen broke the deadlock. Hai Yen doubled Hanoi I’s advantage in the 82nd minute, seemingly putting the result beyond doubt.
Phong Phu Ha Nam responded just two minutes later through Hong Yeu to cut the deficit to 2-1, but they were unable to find an equaliser before the final whistle.
With a fourth consecutive victory, Ho Chi Minh City I remain at the top of the standings with a perfect 12 points. Hanoi I sit second on nine points, followed by Thai Nguyen with seven. Phong Phu Ha Nam are fourth with four points, while both Ho Chi Minh City II and Hanoi II have collected one point each. Than KSVN remain at the bottom of the table, still searching for their first point of the season.
