Perfect starts for seven teams as V.League 1 – 2026/27 kickoff in style

Following Vietnam’s memorable ASEAN Cup 2026 triumph, the 2026/27 LPBank V.League 1 season kicked off with an exciting opening round, featuring competitive matches, encouraging attendances and no draws across all seven fixtures.

The opening weekend delivered a rare-looking league table, with every match producing a winner. As a result, seven clubs sit on three points, while the other seven are yet to get off the mark.

Nam Dinh FC emerged as the early leaders after producing the biggest victory of the opening round, cruising to a 4-0 win over Hoang Anh Gia Lai. The emphatic result put Nam Dinh top on goal difference, while HAGL dropped to the bottom of the standings.

Six other clubs also began their campaigns with victories. Ninh Binh, Ho Chi Minh City Police FC, The Cong Viettel, Hanoi Police FC, Thanh Hoa and Song Lam Nghe An all collected three points but sit behind Nam Dinh on the relevant tiebreakers.

At the opposite end of the table, SHB Da Nang, Bac Ninh FC, Hanoi FC, Ha Tinh, Dong Nai, Hai Phong and HAGL all suffered defeats and remain without a point after the first round.

The results have created an intriguing early picture, with exactly half of the league boasting perfect records and the other half still searching for their first points of the new campaign.

Attention will now turn to Round 2, which features several notable matchups. The Cong Viettel will face Hanoi Police FC in one of the standout fixtures, while Ninh Binh host Thanh Hoa.
