Golden Star Warriors return to Hanoi to prepare for the visit of the Singapore lions

Hanoi, 25 July 2026 – On the evening of July 25, the Vietnam national team returned to Hanoi after beginning their ASEAN Cup 2026 campaign with an emphatic 7-0 victory over Timor-Leste at Chonburi Stadium in Thailand.

After arriving in the capital, the players quickly settled into their accommodation and began preparations for their upcoming home match against Singapore, scheduled for July 31.

According to the team’s plan, Vietnam will resume training on the morning of July 26 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Centre. The coaching staff will initially focus on helping the players recover physically following their opening match. Tactical and technical preparations for the Singapore encounter will also be introduced during the training sessions.

Speaking after the commanding victory over Timor-Leste, head coach Kim Sang-sik expressed his satisfaction with his players’ performance. However, the South Korean tactician stressed that the team must quickly put the result behind them and turn their full attention to the challenges ahead.

The seven-goal victory gave Vietnam an ideal start to their ASEAN Cup 2026 campaign and provided the team with valuable early momentum. Nevertheless, the players remain fully focused and understand that more difficult tests await them in the tournament.

Vietnam will now aim to deliver another strong performance when they host Singapore. A positive result on July 31 would strengthen the team’s position and provide an important advantage in the race to progress from the group stage.
