Hanoi FC Bids Farewell to Marcao Silva Mid-Season

Hanoi FC has announced the departure of Marcao, the Brazilian midfielder, after a year of collaboration, as the V-League 2023/2024 season has completed 8 rounds.

Marcao, recognized as one of the V-League’s most skilled foreign players in recent seasons, has seen limited playtime due to injuries. In the current season, he participated in 8 matches, including 4 in the V-League and 4 in the AFC Champions League, primarily playing as a center-back despite being a defensive midfielder by trade.

With Marcao’s exit, Hanoi FC now retains three foreign players: midfielder Brandon Wilson and forwards Denilson Junior and Joel Tagueu.

In related news, Hanoi FC has extended the contract with defender Le Van Xuan. The 24-year-old has played 54 matches and scored once for the capital city club.

Le Van Xuan expressed his commitment to Hanoi FC, stating, “I didn’t take long to decide to continue with Hanoi FC. I hope to contribute more to the team in the future. Winning the national championship is the shortest path to competing in the prestigious AFC Champions League, an experience I eagerly anticipate more of with the team.
