Hanoi FC advances to the national cup semifinals

Hanoi FC has successfully secured a spot in the semifinals of the National Cup after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Da Nang at Hang Day Stadium. The match, which highlighted the competitive spirit of both teams, saw Hai Long emerge as the hero for the home side with two crucial goals.

The game started off intensely, with both teams demonstrating strong defensive strategies. However, it was Hai Long who broke the deadlock at the 35th minute, giving Hanoi FC the lead with a well-placed shot that left the Da Nang goalkeeper with no chance to save. Hai Long’s second goal came 20 minutes later, at the 55th minute, further solidifying his team’s advantage with a powerful header from a corner kick.

Despite being two goals down, Da Nang refused to give up. They pushed back with vigor, and their efforts were rewarded when Quang Vinh scored in the 76th minute. His goal revived hopes for the visiting team, but despite their best efforts and a few close calls in the final minutes, Da Nang could not find the equalizer.

Hanoi FC’s victory was not just about advancing to the semifinals but also a testament to their resilience and tactical prowess under pressure. The win sets up a thrilling encounter in the next round, where they will face the winner of the match between The Cong Viettel and PVF CAND.

This match was one of the two quarterfinals featuring the use of VAR technology, helping ensure fairness and accuracy in decision-making by the referees, which was particularly significant in a couple of contentious moments during the game.

Fans of Hanoi FC and Vietnamese football now eagerly await the semifinal clash, as their team looks to continue their quest for the National Cup trophy, building on the momentum from this crucial victory.
