After a tenure filled with dedication and the nurturing of young talents, Coach Hoang Anh Tuan has decided to step down from his role as the head coach of Vietnam’s national youth teams. The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has agreed to his request, marking the end of an era that began in December 2022 when he signed a three-year contract to develop the U18 to U20 national teams.
During his time with the teams, Coach Hoang Anh Tuan led the U20 Vietnam team to the AFC U20 Asian Cup 2023, earning respect and appreciation for his efforts. He was also entrusted with the responsibility of guiding the U23 Vietnam team through several significant tournaments including the 2023 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, the 19th Asian Games, and the most recent AFC U23 Asian Cup 2024.
His journey with the youth teams has been marked by significant challenges and achievements. Under his guidance, the teams have shown marked improvements in their competitive performances on the international stage, which included notable matches at the U23 Asian Cup 2024.
