Hai Phong and The Cong Viettel face penalties ahead of round 23 of V.League 1 – 2023/2024

Before the start of Round 23 in the Night Wolf V.League 1 – 2023/2024, Hai Phong and The Cong Viettel clubs have been handed penalties by the Disciplinary Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation due to violations that occurred during Round 22.

According to Decision No. 355/QĐ-LĐBĐVN, Hai Phong FC has been fined 20 million VND. This penalty comes as a result of their fans setting off flares in the stadium and using abusive language towards the referees during the match between The Cong Viettel and Hai Phong at Hang Day Stadium on May 30, 2024. Similarly, Decision No. 357/QĐ-LĐBĐVN states that The Cong Viettel has been fined 15 million VND for the same offenses.

Additionally, Ho Chi Minh City FC has also been fined ahead of Round 23 of the Night Wolf V.League 1 – 2023/2024. As per Decision No. 356/QĐ-LĐBĐVN, the team managed by Phung Thanh Phuong has been fined 2 million VND for having five players receive yellow cards during their match against Binh Duong on May 31.

Round 23 of the Night Wolf V.League 1 – 2023/2024 is set to take place over two days, June 15 and 16. The organizers have announced that VAR technology will be applied in three matches: Song Lam Nghe An vs Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh vs The Cong Viettel, and Hanoi FC vs Hanoi Police FC.

These sanctions highlight the league’s commitment to maintaining discipline and fair play, ensuring that matches are conducted in a respectful and safe environment for both players and officials. The use of VAR in crucial matches is also a step towards enhancing the accuracy and fairness of the competition.
