The champions of V.League 1 – 2023/2024 could be banned from participating in the next season

On June 17, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Licensing Committee held a critical meeting to determine which clubs would receive licenses to participate in the V-League for the 2024/2025 season. The majority of clubs met the necessary criteria to secure their licenses, with Khanh Hoa being the only club denied a license due to their recent relegation.

  1. Binh Duong
  2. Ho Chi Minh FC
  3. Song Lam Nghe An

Temporary Licenses and Conditions

Binh Dinh and Hai Phong FC have been granted temporary licenses. However, these clubs are under scrutiny and face the possibility of being barred from the 2024/2025 season if they fail to submit documentation proving they meet financial criteria by July 15. This temporary approval puts pressure on both clubs to resolve any outstanding financial issues promptly.

Potential Impact

Should Binh Dinh and Hai Phong FC fail to meet the required standards, the VFF will need to find alternative solutions to adjust the number of clubs participating in the next season. This situation could significantly impact the structure of the league and the competition dynamics.

Binh Dinh, in particular, is currently in contention for the V-League 2023/2024 championship, competing closely with Nam Dinh and Hanoi FC. With three rounds remaining in the season, Binh Dinh is four points behind Nam Dinh. Their participation in the next season is crucial not only for their ambitions but also for maintaining the league’s competitive balance.

The Licensing Process

The VFF’s decision to implement strict licensing criteria highlights the importance of financial stability and regulatory compliance for all clubs. This approach ensures that clubs are not only.
