Patrik Le Giang delivered an outstanding performance during the 2023/2024 V.League season while on loan at Ho Chi Minh City FC from Hanoi Police FC. The Vietnamese-Slovakian goalkeeper’s exceptional skills between the posts were pivotal in helping Ho Chi Minh City FC secure an impressive fourth-place finish in the league, surprising many observers.
Le Giang’s contributions did not go unnoticed, as he was selected for the V.League 2023/2024 Best XI, earning the title of the league’s best goalkeeper. This accolade is a well-deserved recognition of his hard work and dedication throughout the season.
Following the conclusion of the 2023/2024 season, Le Giang engaged in discussions with Hanoi Police FC regarding his future. On July 8, Hanoi Police FC announced on their official Facebook page that Le Giang would be returning to the club. However, the 32-year-old goalkeeper later denied this information, clarifying that he had not agreed to rejoin the team.
After returning to his home country and with his contract with Hanoi Police FC expiring on July 25, Le Giang took to his personal Facebook page to post a heartfelt message of gratitude to the club.
In his message, Le Giang expressed, “I want to take this opportunity to thank Hanoi Police FC for bringing me to the country where my father was born and where my roots lie. I am very happy to have won my first title with Hanoi Police FC, and that will never change. I am grateful for the support of the President, everyone at the club, the coaches, my teammates, and the fans. You have all supported me and helped me move forward. Wishing you all the best, and I hope we meet again.”
It has been confirmed that after parting ways with Hanoi Police FC, Patrik Le Giang will be joining Ho Chi Minh City FC, the club where he performed admirably last season. Prior to this, Ho Chi Minh City FC had strengthened their goalkeeping options by signing Bui Tien Dung during the summer transfer window.
Le Giang’s permanent move to Ho Chi Minh City FC is expected to bolster the team’s defense further, as they aim to build on the success of the previous season. His experience and proven track record in the V.League will undoubtedly make him a key player for the club as they prepare for the challenges of the upcoming 2024/2025 season.
