The 2024 VTV Ferroli Cup will serve as a valuable opportunity for the Vietnam women’s national volleyball team to elevate their skill level by competing against several strong teams. This year’s tournament has expanded the number of matches for each participating team, providing more chances for clubs to gain experience and improve their game.
The tournament will feature eight teams, divided into two groups. The teams will compete in a round-robin format within their groups to determine the rankings. After the group stage, the teams will advance to the quarterfinals, with matchups determined as follows: the first-place team in Group A will face the last-place team in Group B, and vice versa.
Additionally, the second-place team in Group A will go up against the third-place team in Group B, and the third-place team in Group A will face the second-place team in Group B. The four winners of the quarterfinals will proceed to the semifinals, where the victors will advance to the final, while the losers will compete in the third-place match.
Meanwhile, the four teams that lose in the quarterfinals will be paired up to compete for the final rankings from fifth to eighth place. The VTV Ferroli Cup 2024 will feature a total of 24 matches, all of which will be broadcast live on VTV’s channels, as well as on the VTVgo app and VTV Sports YouTube channel, starting from Saturday, August 24.
This comprehensive format ensures that every team will have ample opportunity to play multiple matches, allowing them to gain critical match experience and refine their strategies against a variety of opponents. For the Vietnam women’s national team, this tournament represents an important step in their preparation for future international competitions.
