Hong Linh Ha Tinh has swiftly finalized its foreign player roster ahead of the 2024/2025 V-League season. Following the acquisition of two notable foreign players, Geovane Magno and Noel Mbo, the club has secured its third and final foreign signing, center-back Helerson Mateus.
Standing at 1.90 meters tall, Helerson Mateus developed his skills at the renowned Botafogo academy in Brazil. Born in 1997, Helerson has experience playing alongside Japanese star Keisuke Honda during his time at Botafogo in the 2019/2020 season.
Before joining Hong Linh Ha Tinh, Helerson Mateus was a part of Tacuary FC in Paraguay’s top division. In the previous season, he played a significant role, making 25 appearances and scoring one goal for Tacuary. His consistent playtime indicates that he has maintained a good level of fitness and form, which will be beneficial as he adapts to a new football environment in the V-League.
With Helerson Mateus now on board, Hong Linh Ha Tinh has strategically reinforced all areas of the pitch with foreign talent. Helerson Mateus will provide a solid presence in defense, Geovane Magno will bring creativity to the midfield, and Noel Mbo is expected to bolster the attacking line, focusing on goal-scoring duties.
The integration of these three foreign players is seen as a crucial step in Hong Linh Ha Tinh’s preparations for the upcoming season. While Helerson Mateus’ form is promising, his main challenge will be to quickly acclimate to the playing style and conditions of Vietnamese football. The club’s management and coaching staff are optimistic that these additions will significantly enhance the team’s overall performance and competitiveness in the V-League.
