Vietnam women’s national team extends support to victims of natural disasters

Vietnam women’s national football team took a meaningful and heartwarming action right after reuniting for training camp.

The team recently gathered to prepare for two important friendly matches against China and Uzbekistan, which will serve as a warm-up for the 2025 season, where they will participate in three major competitions: the Asian Cup qualifiers, the Southeast Asian Women’s Championship, and the 33rd SEA Games.

Alongside their technical preparations, the players, led by head coach Mai Duc Chung, carried out an impactful gesture. The team contributed 100 million VND (about 4,100 USD) to support the community affected by recent natural disasters through the Vietnam Heart Fund.

Coach Mai Duc Chung expressed his sympathy for those affected by storms and floods. The team members shared their hopes to aid families hit by these disasters, helping them recover and return to normal life as quickly as possible.

Previously, many famous Vietnamese football players, such as Quang Hai and Tan Truong, had also contributed to disaster relief efforts, extending their support to affected communities.

The Vietnam women’s national team is currently training at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center to prepare for the two upcoming international friendlies in China, set to take place at the end of October 2024.
