According to the draw results for the 2024 Women’s Club World Volleyball Championship, Vietnam’s Ninh Binh Women’s Volleyball Club will face Italy’s Imoco Conegliano, a team boasting some of the world’s top players.
The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) recently released the list of the eight competing teams and their grouping for this prestigious tournament. Ninh Binh was placed in Group B alongside Imoco Conegliano (Italy), Praia Clube (Brazil), and NEC Red Rockets (Japan). Group A includes the host team Tianjin (China), Vero Volley Milano (Italy), Zamalek SC (Egypt), and Gerdau Minas (Brazil).
This draw means Bich Tuyen and her Ninh Binh teammates will go up against star players like Zhu Ting, Haak, and Gabi from Imoco. They’ll also have a chance to re-encounter Japan’s NEC Red Rockets and compete with Praia Clube from Brazil. Given the competitive nature of Group B, advancing past the group stage will be a significant challenge for Ninh Binh, as only the top two teams from each group will proceed to the semifinals.
While the competition may be tough, experts suggest that participating in the Women’s Club World Championship will offer Ninh Binh valuable experience, allowing the team to develop their skills further by competing against some of the best players globally.
The 2024 Women’s Club World Championship will be held from December 17 to December 22 in Hangzhou, China, at the Huanglong Sports Center, which seats 8,000 spectators. Ninh Binh is set to play their opening match against NEC Red Rockets (Japan) on December 17.
