Vietnam national football team is encountering travel difficulties as they prepare for the second leg of the ASEAN Cup 2024 semi-final against Singapore at Viet Tri Stadium (Phu Tho).
On December 26, Vietnam secured a 2-0 victory over Singapore in the first leg, thanks to goals from Xuan Son and Tien Linh. Today, December 27, Coach Kim Sang Sik and his squad embarked on their journey back to Vietnam to prepare for the decisive second leg on December 29.
The team’s return to Vietnam is complicated by flight availability issues, requiring the squad to split into two groups traveling on separate flights. Group 1 departed Singapore at 1:25 PM and is expected to land in Hanoi at 4:00 PM, while Group 2’s flight is scheduled for 2:55 PM, arriving in Hanoi at 6:30 PM. The entire team is expected to regroup in Phu Tho by approximately 8:00 PM tonight.
Arriving in Phu Tho late in the evening leaves Vietnam with only one full training session on December 28 before the semi-final on December 29. However, Singapore faces a similar situation, as their team is also set to arrive in Viet Tri late today.
The ASEAN Cup 2024 semi-final second leg between Vietnam and Singapore will kick off at 8:00 PM on December 29 at Viet Tri Stadium. Both teams will be aiming for a spot in the final, with Vietnam holding a crucial two-goal advantage from the first leg.
