
In the Round of 16 of the 2024/2025 National Cup, Hanoi Police FC hosted Ha Tinh at Hang Day Stadium in a closely contested match. Both teams demonstrated their determination to advance, fielding nearly their strongest lineups.
With home advantage, Hanoi Police FC started on the front foot, applying consistent pressure on Ha Tinh’s defense. Despite creating numerous opportunities, the breakthrough only came in the 37th minute. From a well-placed free-kick by Leo Artur, Alan was in the right position inside the box to finish decisively, putting Hanoi Police FC ahead.
Trailing, Ha Tinh made tactical adjustments in the second half by introducing Viktor Le and Geovane. These changes paid off in the 68th minute when Geovane broke into Hanoi Police FC’s penalty area to meet a brilliant through ball from Xuan Truong. His shot deflected off Hugo Gomes, leaving goalkeeper Nguyen Filip helpless as the ball found the net, leveling the score.
Both teams pushed for a winner in the remaining time, creating several chances, but the match seemed destined for a penalty shootout. However, in the dying moments of added time, Hanoi Police FC found their decisive goal. In the 90+3rd minute, center-back Viet Anh ventured forward and delivered a precise one-touch finish from a low cross by Jason Quang Vinh, sealing a dramatic 2-1 victory for the home team.
This hard-fought win secured Hanoi Police FC’s place in the quarterfinals of the National Cup, much to the delight of their fans at Hang Day Stadium.
