
The Asian Shooting Cup 2025 held in Thailand witnessed a historic achievement by the Vietnam Shooting Team, as they clinched the gold medal in the men’s team event for the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol discipline. This victory marks the very first time in history that the Vietnamese shooting team has managed to secure such a prestigious accolade on the Asian stage. The team’s outstanding performance was highlighted by their impressive score of 1,727-53x, which outclassed their rivals in a tightly contested competition.
The gold medal-winning team was composed of talented shooters Ha Minh Thanh, Pham Quang Huy, and Vu Tien Nam. Their collective effort and unwavering focus during the event allowed them to set a high benchmark in performance. The Japanese team, scoring 1,714-33x, settled for the silver medal, while the Indonesian team took home the bronze. In the individual events, the competition remained fierce and intense. Shooter Ha Minh Thanh managed to secure the bronze medal by registering 25 hits after being eliminated in the decisive shoot-off round. Although Pham Quang Huy also advanced to the shoot-off stage in the individual competition, his final tally of 9 hits was not enough to contend for a top spot. The individual gold medal went to South Korea’s shooter Yoon Seoyeong, who achieved a remarkable 31 hits, setting a high standard for precision and composure under pressure.
The Asian Shooting Cup 2025 took place from February 9 to 22 in Thailand, gathering a total of 319 athletes from 24 countries. The event showcased a wide range of talent across Asia and provided a platform for shooters to compete at the highest level.
