The second phase of the V-League 2024/2025 transfer window officially closed on March 12. After this deadline, clubs can no longer register or replace domestic and foreign players.
Thanh Hoa FC has signed Laotian national team player Damoth Thongkhamsavath, making him the first-ever Laotian footballer to play in the V-League.
Following Thongkhamsavath’s arrival, Thanh Hoa parted ways with Lam Ti Phong, who had fallen out of favor in the 2024/2025 season. Since the start of the campaign, the 1996-born winger had only made five appearances for the club.
Lam Ti Phong joined Thanh Hoa in 2023 from Ho Chi Minh City FC. In his first season, he played 17 matches and scored two goals. During the 2023/2024 season, he made 21 appearances and netted three goals.
After leaving the club, Lam Ti Phong wrote a heartfelt message to the coaching staff and fans of Thanh Hoa:
“Another journey has come to an end. Today, I want to express my gratitude to Thanh Hoa FC, the head coach, the coaching staff, and my passionate and incredible teammates. I also want to thank the loyal fans who have always supported me and the team through difficult times.Throughout this time, whether we faced challenges or successes, everything we achieved was well deserved. I wish everyone good health and much success in the journey ahead.”
Thanh Hoa has been in poor form, enduring a winless streak of 11 consecutive matches across all competitions. The club has been eliminated from both the AFC Champions League Two and the National Cup 2024/2025. As a result, head coach Velizar Popov decided to resign.
