Hanoi, 8 Sep 2026 – Vietnam Gymnastics Federation has announced a VND 100 million bonus for each gold medal won by the national artistic gymnastics team at the 20th Asian Games in Japan, as part of efforts to motivate athletes ahead of the continental event.
Under the incentive scheme, athletes who win a gold medal will receive VND 100 million, while silver and bronze medalists will be awarded VND 50 million and VND 20 million, respectively.
The federation said the rewards recognize the commitment and hard work of the athletes and coaching staff throughout their preparations, while also providing additional motivation as the team targets strong results at ASIAD 20.
The Asian Games bring together many of the continent’s leading athletes, making them one of the most demanding competitions for Vietnamese gymnasts. Along with technical ability, competitors will need to be well prepared physically and mentally to perform under pressure.
Vietnam’s artistic gymnastics team has therefore maintained an intensive training schedule as the Games approach. Even during the National Day holiday on September 2, coaches and athletes continued training at the National High Performance Sports Training Center.
During their final preparations, the gymnasts have focused on completing their training programs and refining individual routines and techniques to ensure they reach peak condition for the competition.
According to head coach Truong Minh Sang, Vietnam’s artistic gymnastics delegation for ASIAD 20 consists of three coaches and eight athletes. The team trained throughout the holiday period because of the importance of the final preparation phase.
“We are now in the final stage of preparation before leaving for the Games, so both the coaching staff and athletes are working very hard and maintaining a high level of concentration,” Truong Minh Sang said.
With the team approaching the end of its preparations, the Vietnam Gymnastics Federation hopes the additional financial incentives will further motivate the athletes to challenge Asia’s strongest competitors and fight for medals.
The gymnastics team will be among Vietnam’s representatives at ASIAD 20 in Japan, where its results will contribute to the country’s overall medal campaign at Asia’s biggest multi-sport event.
