Vietnam women’s national team is without their key striker during the October 2024 training camp

Vietnam women’s national football team will be without forward Huynh Nhu during their October 2024 training camp.

This month, the team will gather for their second training session of the year at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, in preparation for an international friendly tournament held in Chongqing, China.

The Vietnam squad will regroup from October 9 to October 30 with 23 players. Those belonging to Thong Nhat Sports Center (Ho Chi Minh City) will join the team on October 13, after completing the group stage of the AFC Women’s Club Championship.

In this training session, fitness expert Cedric Roger will return to support head coach Mai Duc Chung, alongside assistants Doan Minh Hai, Doan Thi Kim Chi, Nguyen Thi Kim Hong, and Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh.

Most of the squad remains unchanged from the team that participated in the September training camp in the Czech Republic. However, Huynh Nhu will not be joining this time, as she is focusing on personal projects.

Another adjustment in this camp is the absence of young goalkeeper Dao Thi Kieu Oanh from the Hanoi Sports Training Center. Instead, Quach Thu Em from Thong Nhat Sports Center will be part of the squad.

To ensure the team’s future, young players like Nguyen Thi Kim Yen (Thong Nhat Sports Center) and Ho Thi Thanh Thao (Than Khoang San Vietnam) will also be given the opportunity to train with the senior national team, further enhancing their development.
