Vietnam sports delegation departs for the Paris 2024 Olympics, determined to win medals

On the evening of July 23, the Vietnamese sports delegation arrived at Noi Bai International Airport to complete the necessary procedures for their departure to France for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The Vietnamese contingent comprises 39 members, including 16 athletes, along with coaches, specialists, officials, and support staff. The athletes representing Vietnam at the Paris 2024 Olympics are:

  • Archery: Do Thi Anh Nguyet, Le Quoc Phong
  • Athletics: Tran Thi Nhi Yen
  • Badminton: Nguyen Thuy Linh, Le Duc Phat
  • Boxing: Ha Thi Linh, Vo Thi Kim Anh
  • Canoeing: Nguyen Thi Huong
  • Cycling: Nguyen Thi That
  • Rowing: Pham Thi Hue
  • Shooting: Trinh Thu Vinh, Le Thi Mong Tuyen
  • Swimming: Nguyen Huy Hoang, Vo Thi My Tien
  • Weightlifting: Trinh Van Vinh
  • Judo: Hoang Thi Tinh

Several athletes had already traveled to France earlier, including those competing in shooting, boxing, judo, rowing, and badminton.

On the evening of July 23, the remaining members of the delegation, led by Chief Delegate Dang Ha Viet, completed their departure procedures at Noi Bai International Airport. They are scheduled to arrive at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris at 7 AM on July 24 (Vietnam time), before moving to the Olympic Village.

Vietnamese sports authorities have set an ambitious target for the Paris 2024 Olympics: to secure a medal. Dang Ha Viet, Director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports and Chief of the Vietnamese delegation to the Paris 2024 Olympics, expressed optimism: “After a period of rigorous and responsible preparation, the officials, specialists, coaches, and athletes of the Vietnamese sports delegation are confident and ready to compete in the Paris 2024 Olympics.

“This is the largest and most competitive sports event, bringing together the top athletes from around the world. Participating in the Paris Olympics is the most significant mission for Vietnamese sports in 2024, and also the most challenging, with the goal of having the highest number of athletes qualify and striving to win a medal at the Games,” Dang Ha Viet stated.
